    Halftime

    Most of us are familiar with the term “Halftime” used in sporting events.  Broadcasters use this time to review and provide analysis of the first half, while the teams use it to regroup, reassess, and determine the game plan for the second half.  In musicals and plays they have what’s called an “intermission.”  For the audience this intermission builds anticipation for what’s to come, for the actors, it gives them time to change costumes, rest, and change sets.     Before You Say NO

    “Mom, can you please just come and look at our room before you say no.” Those were the exact words from my 6 year old yesterday morning.  She and her older sister had decided to move things around their rooms and swap a few small furniture pieces.  She came downstairs to tell me of their brilliant idea; she enthusiastically described the pieces they moved and their new location.  She was proud and excited.  My instant response without even thinking “for today, it can stay that way but everything needs to be put back when you’re done playing.”  Jumping to conclusions…

    Impactful Rise, Forgetful Fall

    Have you ever gone ice skating? When you fall on the ice, it is absolutely painful, especially when you’re new to skating. Oh the bruises, and the painful thuds against the cold solid merciless ice. Attempting to brace the fall sometimes hurts even more and leads to more bruises.
