I get a lot of my inspiration through music. I find the means to relax, unwind, and even motivation through music. From jogging to the beat of an R&B song, to kickboxing to upbeat hip hop songs, to decompressing through Assyrian songs, and meditating through Christian songs, specifically music by Hillsong and Arabic hymns. This is a bittersweet week for me as both my girls are going back to school. My oldest will be in third grade and my youngest will start Kindergarten. On the last day of school we created a bucket list together (my family loves making a list and checking it off) and started our journey of completing as many of the items on the list as possible. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary the word compromise means “settlement of differences by consent reached by mutual concessions.” Yet that word tends to have a negative connotation to it. We compromise in our relationships almost daily. This is a positive form of compromising. In order to have a successful relationship or marriage, one of the key points in a relationship, and parenting for that matter, is being willing and able to compromise.
