Are you emotionally validated from within or do you seek validation from everyone but YOURSELF. We live in a society that seeks endorsement from the world more than ourselves. Social media has redefined validation for us. It has pushed us to seek it through how many likes and hearts we receive. We waste quality time on what others are thinking of us and our actions, and we allow their opinion to impact who we are.
Your sense of worth should not be a function of being liked or treated well by others. It should be a function of who you are and what you think of yourself. Emotionally validated means being independent, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
When you spend too much time worrying about what others think and say about you, you end up giving up control. Losing your value because you don’t express yourself and ultimately, you end up losing your freedom in a sense, because you are restricted by other’s guidelines and views, and they are restricted by others, so on and so forth. You are trapped in a vicious cycle that continues to impact your self-esteem and self-confidence. Think of it this way, YOU ARE LETTING OTHER PEOPLE’S WEAKNESSES IMPACT YOUR EMOTIONAL LIFE. No one should have any power on you except for YOU!!!
Be emotionally independent, in doing so, you are giving yourself an opportunity to act instead of others acting upon you. So how much of yourself do you own?
