Personal Growth

Fruits of Obedience

Living our purpose is never within our comfort zone; if so, everyone would be doing it, living their best life while beaming with happiness and satisfaction. It takes courage against fear and a leap of faith into the unknown. Often, we are called to do something, to step outside our little box, and even though we know we need to, we hesitate. We doubt and question, or we list all the logical things of why we shouldn’t. Whether it’s financial, children’s school, job security, or fear of the unknown. The list goes on and on. The first step into our purpose is never easy.

Our purpose changes with each season of life. Some of them are short-term, while others are lifelong. Some are small and don’t seem to be that impactful, while others are world-changing. We are each designed to serve a purpose that builds a better world for us and those around us.

Almost a year ago, God called my family to move to Idaho. A concept that never crossed our minds. We had so many questions, but we knew we had to trust. When the world around us thought we were crazy and questioned our thought process, that’s when my husband and I knew we were on the right path. Purpose requires stepping out of our comfort zone. As we obediently followed, with each step came an obstacle, and each obstacle was quickly resolved in the smoothest way possible, overwhelmed by blessings. At some point, random people noticed a divine intervention they could not comprehend.

Our purpose here is revealing itself slowly, and we are excited and anxious as we discover and step into it. But in this scary transition, my husband and I prayed a simple prayer for God to send our girls friends…the right friends. Wow, has God responded! Actually, not only has he answered, but he did it with abundance. Simple obedience on our part led to endless friends and genuine friendships for our girls. Although this may not sound like a big deal to you, this is huge to us, especially when we watched our little girl struggle with friendships and bullying and the pain she experienced at school.

We all have a purpose in life, some of them are more rewarding than others, but nonetheless, they all bring a level of satisfaction we lack.

Are you being obedient in living your purpose? Have you been called to do something that’s way out of your comfort zone, and you’re questioning whether you should pursue it? If so, then take the leap of faith. You will be amazed at the opportunities, the blessings, and the growth you will experience.
