A true friend will love you not only when it’s easy, but when times are tough as well. A true friend will love you at all times. As we get older, it seems as our pool of friends slowly shrinks down. Life happens, people change and sometimes move away, relationships diminish over time, but a true friend remains regardless of the situation or the distance. Out of those strong bonds and relationships, a brother or sister is born. Sometimes our friends tend to be a stronger support system than blood relatives, especially during trying times and life storms.
We are designed for relationships. We yearn to belong, to relate to others, to fit in, to have friends. Our inner circle, those closest to us can encourage us and help us grow or they can hold us back. I have some of the most incredible people in my inner circle. Some of them I don’t get to see as often as I would like, let’s face it, life gets busy especially with work and kids. However, I love that we can celebrate the good and be there for the bad even if it’s through a simple text or a phone call. Being able to pick up right where we left off is my favorite part.
What does your inner circle look like? Are you surrounded by friends that will carry you through anything life throws at you or do they drain you and cause you more heartache? Be wise in your selection and who is allowed to be close to you as they can either build you up or tear you down.
