We live in a busy world of distractions. Everyone and everything is calling for our attention. We have become a culture of jugglers, stressing over keeping so many balls in the air: daily tasks, house chores, kids, work, deadlines, personal relationships, and so much more. One wrong move and things can drop and fall apart.
If only we had more time!
We can’t add more hours to our day, but we can prioritize our juggling act.
Ask yourself this…are you present in everything you do, or is your mind already planning for the next activity, or the next meeting, or the next meal? In recent weeks I have found myself drifting and daydreaming about the next item on my list instead of being intentional with my current task.
I wish I had more time, but the truth is, if there were more hours in the day, we would fill those hours with additional tasks and find ourselves, yet again, asking for more hours.
We have time for what we choose to have time for.
It’s time to look at everything we’re juggling and prioritize what needs to stay and what should be dropped. It may seem crazy at first, but if something takes time away from what truly matters, it needs to go.
Working from home, homeschooling my girls, running my business, and my household has been an adventure, to say the least, but every day I am learning how to be fully present in each task before moving on to the next one. I don’t want to miss out on anything important, especially with my family. How about you? How will you be present today?
