Last week, while my youngest and I were driving home from the pet store, we discussed the act of judging others. From time to time, walking around a store, you come across various individuals, all expressing themselves in their unique way. To a child, that may seem odd sometimes.
So during our drive, she says, “mom, we can’t judge people, right?”
My response was, “we can judge them; however, we shouldn’t.”
We are capable of just about anything. The challenge is, should we?
It’s easy to point fingers, it’s easy to identify others’ shortcomings, and it’s easy to see someone else’s flaws. But should we?
Carl Jung said, “thinking is difficult; that’s why most people judge.”
Judging comes easy; our brain is wired with this tendency, but pausing and seeking whether we should, now that’s the true test of personal growth.
