On February 4, 2007, quarterback Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts won his first Super Bowl. During the game, Manning had more completions, more yards, only one fumble and threw one interception. While on the other side for the Chicago Bears, the quarterback Rex Grossman had the opposite and had two fumbles and threw two interceptions. Although the win was a team effort for the Colts, Manning managed to achieve more and only made half the mistakes Grossman did.
A few weeks after the win, Manning revealed one of the reasons behind his success. Every few weeks he and Center Jeff Saturday (the one who snaps him the ball) would take snaps before practice with wet footballs. They would have an equipment guy squirt water on the ball while Saturday had his hands on it. This gave them the resemblance of playing in the rain. Did I mention it rained during the Super Bowl that year?
Manning seemed less bothered by rain than Grossman because he trained for it. Manning played half of his games in a dome. Technically, he never had to practice with a wet football; however, he wanted to make sure he was prepared for the unexpected. He took the extra steps to improve on something and it paid off for him and the team.
Often times we look at someone’s success but we turn a blind eye to how they became successful. What you do behind the scenes when no one is looking matters and makes a difference in your success. Every decision you make today, good or bad, impacts your tomorrow.

Hi friend love the lesson built in each week. I have been doing a study on habits for about two months. I love this quote from an unknown source that stated that “ultimately we don’t decide our future, we decide our habits and our habits decide our future”. Awesome example on how to take charge of your own destiny. Love It As Always!
