Your Posture Says It All

Recently, my sister and I along with a few friends attended the Toby Mac concert “Deep Hits Tour”.  Toby Mac is a Christian hip hop recording artist.  In between songs, he took the time to discuss several different subjects.  One of the main ones that stuck with me the most was his talk about Posture

He had a folding chair brought to the stage as he demonstrated two different sitting postures.  The relaxed posture where you’re leaning back in the chair, legs stretched out, arms crossed.  Or, the leaning forward one, where you are sitting on the edge of your seat, heels off the ground, torso leaning in, ready to go at a moment’s notice.

Our postures in life say a lot about us and who we are.  When we’re in the relaxed position, we tend to get too relaxed, we look around and say “I’ll do this or I’ll do that” but the day passes by and nothing happens, so we do it again tomorrow and the next day and the next day.  Or we are on the edge of our seat, ready to stand and take on the world, whatever that may be, we are ready to go with the attitude of “I’m going to do this or I’m going to do that.”

Which posture do you spend most of your time in? Are you on the edge ready to start or are you leaning back waiting for something to force you out of your seat?
