Graceful Response

I would like to start this post by apologizing for the random and gibberish blog that was emailed out yesterday.  Unfortunately, my website was hacked and I was not aware of a scheduled blog post until my husband called me from work early in the morning to alert me of the email.  The issue has been addressed, the post has been deleted, and extra precaution measures have been taken to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

When I read the post I was mortified and embarrassed, it was a string of words just placed together with no message and no purpose.  I could be angry at the fact that someone invaded my system but instead I feel sorry for whoever did it.  It is heart breaking to see how they chose to exert their time and abilities to add chaos and stress to others instead of add value and do good in this world.  Life is too short to spend it trying to destroy others by inflicting unnecessary anguish to their already stressful life.  And yet, some are choosing to do just that.  My heart goes out to those people because I look at them as lost souls in search of something greater and when they can’t find it or they don’t have the motivation to even reach it, they try to fill the void with acts of hurt aimed at others.  Here’s what I’ve learned from these individuals:

  • Their intentional action, though it might be aimed at you and me, it’s a reflection of their short comings, their void, and their insecurities, not OURS!
  • Their negative behavior can teach us lessons about who we really are by how we respond to the situation.  We can get angry and stoop to their level, or we can rise above and laugh our way through it with grace.

So the next time someone invades your personal space, directly or indirectly attacks you, or points their finger at you while whispering, just smile and know that you’re in control and they have no power over you.
