My family LOVES LEGO’s! To say we are obsessed is an understatement. It all began with me and eventually trickled down to my family and now I am convinced I have created monsters. When my husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary last month, our present to each other was LEGO sets, and we spent our quarantine anniversary celebration with a race to see who will build their 3,000 piece LEGO kit first, to make it more interesting, we mixed all the bags together, and of course… I won.
I am intrigued with how many pieces it takes to create beautiful sets and all the little details, the hidden ones and the elaborate eye catching ones. Every single piece, although different in colors, shapes, sizes, and even edges, are useless when alone but once they are connected to other pieces, they create a masterpiece. A LEGO piece alone will lead to nothing as it’s made with the intention of being connected. The same is true for us!
We all come in different colors, shapes, sizes, attitudes, and so much more. We are made to be connected, to build relationships with others, to feel the sense of belonging, to be surrounded by friends. To be loved, to be wanted and appreciated are desires that are ingrained within our human nature.
In a world that seems so divided and broken, we need to come together and build each other despite our differences. We can be more and do more together.
We need each other because let’s face it, we are simply better together.
