Shadows of Perception

Take a look at the two boxes; are they the same shade of gray or two different ones?

Brain Games – Disney+

They are actually the same exact color.  Hard to believe but true.  Want to test it yourself? Cover the shaded area where the two boxes connect with your finger…do you see it now?

This is the perception of our brain because it uses shadows as clues to identify our world.  Our brain is tricked by the shadow which leads it to make assumptions about an object.

“Our brain tends to use past experiences to generate its perception of the world.”  Beau Lotto

How often do we walk around making assumptions about what’s around us based on the shadows of our perception and past experiences instead of taking things and people for what and who they are?  Perception dictates how we proceed with our daily lives and sometimes it even turns into judgments.  We can rush to judgment based on what we think we know or we can take our time to analyze and establish the benefit of the doubt.  Our world is full of pain, hate, and judgment lately, let’s be different by not allowing the shadows we see alter our perception.
