Have you heard of the 400-year-old redwood tree in California? You might wonder why this tree is unique. You’ve come across hundreds of trees before. You have probably seen trees that are much older than this one.
What makes this aged redwood tree so different is how it fell. See, this tree wasn’t taken down by a storm, or lightning, or even a forest fire. Nope, it was taken down by insects. Little termites devoured it from the inside out.
It was able to withstand elements for 400 years, yet it couldn’t overcome what was eating it up from the inside.
How often do you find yourself holding onto and bottling up anger, frustration, resentment, and distrust? And how often do you tell yourself “you’re fine” when in reality you’re like a ticking time bomb waiting to set off?
What destroyed the redwood tree can also destroy you if you’re not careful. Holding onto things can cause more damage to you than anyone else, and it doesn’t benefit you in any way.
