Happy Birthday!

Benaiah was a valiant fighter, a mighty man, and commander of the 3rd rotational army division for King David (2 Samuel 23:20). We know very little of him and his story, but what we do know is that he went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. Such a short biography, yet so powerful. To walk away knowing he slayed a lion is an admirable display of fearlessness. And that is exactly how I feel about the United States Marine Corps!

Today is a very special day. This is the day where an elite group of men and women celebrate their unity, brotherhood, ferociousness, pride, and above all…sacrifice. Today is the Marine Corps birthday.

When I think of Marines, I picture them as Benaiah, chasing a lion into a pit and walking away victorious. Their mindset is exceptional, they are fearless, they take pride in our country, and they sacrifice more than we can comprehend.

Today, let’s honor these unique individuals that serve our country and protect our freedom. Let’s also honor our veterans because the world needs more selfless and fearless Benaiahs that take our place on the frontlines.

A special shout out and thank you to my sister who served as a Marine for five years. Words can’t describe my love and respect for you and your service!

TO ALL MILITARY, PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE, THANK YOU!
